Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is grown at high elevations in the Andes region of Central Peru. It has been traditionally used for centuries as a food source and as a general energy tonic.* Modern scientific research suggests that Maca may help to support a healthy reproductive life for both men and women.* Clinical data indicate that Maca does not exert a direct effect on endocrine function.*

maca for energy
I have a lot of experience with maca. It really does help me in supporting my endocrine system, especially during the winter. I combine a couple of these capsules with the Swanson Fo-Ti to help me through menopausal symptoms.
I will, however, note that you need to be buying powdered maca in bulk... it is a FOOD and not an herb. You need to be consuming it at the rate of several tablespoons a day to get the bang for the buck. You know to back off when... uh... you start sizing up inanimate objects around the house for their pleasure potential in the bedroom.revsuzanne
